Photography Policy

Burning Herald Photography Policy:

All photography at any Burning Herald events are completed by our guest photographers who we invite to attend each event but if interested in photographing an event then you may reach out to us to express your interest.

All our photographers will agree to our policies as laid about below prior to attending our events.

All photographers will additionally read our code of conduct which everyone present at our games will be read before any game starts and can be found easily on our website.

Image Publishing:

Galleries of photos from our events must be shared to the relevant groups established for the game being run so that players can easily see the albums to purchase any pictures that they may wish. We will also email a reminder out to players once the photos have been made public.

Photo Takedown Policy:

Some players or crew might not want their photo to be taken and so we have a takedown policy of if a player or crew member asks for a photo that they are to be removed then the photographer obliges and removes it as soon as possible.

You may also ask that the photographer delete the photo completely from all data sources which is irreversible.

External Photos:

Any photos that have been taken that are not from our own photographers are not within our control and are therefore excluded from the policies here. We will attempt to mediate a discussion to have a photo removed if anyone in that photo wishes it so but this is down to that person and so not always possible. This includes selfies on smartphones, or other devices.

Ownership:

All ownership of the photograph belongs to the photographer unless purchased in which case that person can use the photo for their own personal use. It should not be used for commercial or business purposes unless agreed with the photographer and Burning Herald.

Remaining in character and not breaking immersion:

Our photographers (in order to prevent any breaking of character) will adon clothing and costume in keeping with the games look and feel in order for them to be able to capture as natural photos as possible. Individual photographers may choose to roleplay with players but will not affect the game in any way. When not taking photos they will do their best to hide their cameras in order to not break immersion.
