Gameplay, combat and weapon safety:
Safety in LARP combat is a shared responsibility, and all players are expected to prioritise the wellbeing of others at all times. Blows must always be pulled so that strikes are controlled and make light contact rather than full force, ensuring no one is put at risk of injury. Only approved, LARP-safe weapons may be used in combat, and players should regularly check their equipment for damage or wear before use. Stabbing is only permitted with weapons that are specifically designed and approved as stab-safe; all other weapons must be used for controlled strikes only. Players should also remain aware of their surroundings, avoiding dangerous terrain, excessive force, or reckless behaviour that could harm themselves or others.
Additional care must be taken with ranged combat. Archery is not permitted after sunset due to reduced visibility and the increased risk of accidents. Only flat-headed, LARP-safe arrows may be used, and they must be in good condition before being fired. Players must never attempt to catch or intercept arrows mid-air, as this can easily lead to injury. Arrows should only be collected by their owner unless explicit permission is given, to prevent confusion, loss, or accidental misuse of damaged equipment. By following these guidelines and exercising common sense, players help ensure that combat remains enjoyable, immersive, and, most importantly, safe for everyone involved.
